{ PAX EXPO CONCEPTS }
The Art Institute of Seattle wanted to update their expo space for PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) 2015. Specifically they needed a space to show off their video game design program, and to stand out from the plethora of other booths.
My first concept I call "The Armory." It was designed to be a space-age, high tech, and "where you gear up for gaming" idea. I wanted something in between Star Trek and Halo.
My second concept I call "Geometry." I wanted to suggest polygons, which many videogames are comprised of. This space is made of multi-faceted, white, geometric shapes. Colored lights would play across them to create interesting colors and a sense of movement. Furthermore, brightly colored, chisel-edged acrylic "jewels" would act as call-outs for various media. These would have bright spotlights on them which would create more color for the space.
I pursued the Geometry design and focused on a design for the vitrines. I made them more symmetrical and somewhat easier to assemble. I put together the following presentation to wrap up the project. Enjoy!
