{ BREAD/SHOE BOX }
I needed a convenient place to sit while I took my shoes on and off, and some extra storage is always handy. I found a couple of old breadboxes at the thriftshop and made them mine.
The two bread boxes were very different aesthetically. One was completely lacking in aesthetics, but the other I liked quite a bit. I used this as inspiration for some embelishments I designed and laser cut. Once applied and painted, the entire unit had a more cohesive look.
"What's with the flannel shirt seat?" you ask. Initially I wanted to use the flannel from a shirt to make a simple cushion, but it just didn't look good. I kept the button down front as a feature which gives the entire unit a "thriftshop upcycle" vibe.
